CORNELLA DEL TERRI, SPAIN—In early June, Indian Life received an urgent request from David Frank of L’Arcada Camp in Spain, for a Native American person or couple to work with kids at the camp, sharing with the campers about Native American culture and giving their testimony. After a couple attempts to find someone, at the last minute, RainSong’s Terry Wildman put Indian Life in contact with Sean Stands Good Soukkala in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As we go to press, we have received news that Sean Stands Good Soukkala is in Spain and volunteering at L’Arcada.
Sean grew up on Fond du Lac near Duluth, MN. An enrolled member of the Mille Lacs Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Sean is a skilled guitar player and worship leader. He has led worship in his home church for many years.
In 2010 Sean traveled with RainSong on tour in Israel. “We were the worship leaders for the tour and he added his sound to ours for the trip,” says Darlene Wildman of RainSong. “We had some incredible times of sharing our faith on the streets in Tel Aviv and Tiberias as Native people in regalia.”
In November 2012, Sean again joined RainSong for a mission trip to Mexico with a church group.
“Sean is like one of our kids,” Darlene stated. “We met him in 2006 when we were doing ministry on the Fon du Lac reservation. He attended Sawyer Chapel there on the reservation with his mom and sisters since he was a baby.”
Sean is also serving with Frankie Jim, another First Nations young warrior from the Sta’atl’imx Nation in western Canada.
