ANTI-TRAFFICKING AND ROOTS

I salute you with universal greetings of peace. I got the latest issue of Indian Life. Thanks a bunch.

Two things came up while reading the issue. First was the two articles on Human Trafficking and the article on the Choctaw Medical Center in Jackson.

My mother’s family has Choctaw in their blood. My great grandmother moved from Mississippi to California a long time ago. She married a man named Emmit and thus had my Granny who gave birth to my mother Cherie who gave birth to me. How would I go about tracing my roots on that front?

I have interests in anti-trafficking. If I got into my past it would paint a perfect picture. But, I’m also trying to lend a hand in the struggle. Specifically trading labor. I know with absolute knowledge how, why, who, what, where, and even when trafficking occurs.

Can you point me in the direction of the people behind the struggle…? I want to work with them so that we can move and shape the landscape surrounding this human rights issue.

I’m dedicated to this cause and I want to work with those who struggle for the same line.
