Graduations to celebrate

Five students graduated from the Master of Arts in International Studies from George Fox University under the NAIITS program. Congratulations to Jim Sequeira, Linda Rae Coon, Joshua Grace, Shawn Hostler Jones and Donnie Begay (absent from the photo). "On behalf of the rest of the NAIITS faculty and students, 'Well done!'" stated Dr. Terry LeBlanc, NAIITS Director.

Maarten Gerritsen graduated with a Masters in Biblical Languages from Providence Theological Seminary, in Otterburne, Manitoba. Having worked for 26 years before entering seminary, Maarten says he had already seen his "fair share of life and what comes with it" before enrolling as a mature student. But, he adds, he was still shaped by the Providence community. "Through the Providence experience I feel more complete, more confident, more equipped to start this new journey in life," Maarten said. He accepted a call to pastor of a church in Arborg, MB.

Marrten is the husband of Linda (Fortin) Gerritsen, a former staff member of Indian Life. Linda's story was published in 1987, 1988, and Linda and Maarten's in 2009.
