Dear Indian Life Readers,
Since 1968 Indian Life has been privileged to carry thousands of articles highlighting the work of God in the lives of Indigenous people in North America. Our primary mandate has been to advance the Christian faith among First Nations, Aboriginal, and Indian communities by reporting on significant events happening on Turtle Island as well as sharing stories of hope, healing and restoration within the Native community.
Over the last number of years we have experienced a time of rapid change and complex realities. The media landscape in North America is evolving and news organizations are finding it increasingly difficult to sustain their print publications, choosing instead to focus on digital communication platforms. Indian Life has also felt this dramatic transformation as our printing and mailing costs continue to escalate while subscription and donation revenue is rapidly declining.
Therefore, our July-August 2017 issue will be our last.
To keep up with this changing climate, Indian Life Ministries is entering a new phase. We will do this by investing in our online platform indianlife.org and by digitizing our books so they can be made available electronically. We see this as an opportunity to increase our impact and expand our diverse readership in North America and perhaps around the world. We will continue to operate as a registered charity supported by donations and maintain an independent, unbiased position in the Christian Native community. Our website will continue to offer stories to readers that inform, encourage and inspire.
Our purpose, as always, will remain the same: to see Indigenous people come to know, love and worship the true Creator, Jesus Christ and through Him, find hope, healing and honor.
Thank you to those who have supported us over the years. We hope you have enjoyed reading the newspaper and we look forward to seeing you online. Please visit us at http://www.indianlife.org.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
