Dear Nidobak(friends),
Whenever the sun is out and you are, too, it is time for a party. You can be as formal and fancy as you’d like or keep it totally simple. I put some ideas below so you aren’t so busy. As with all things, organizing is the key. Some dishes go with everything, others don’t.
If you are having more than six people, it’s a good idea to have a card table size table to keep drinks separate from food.
In summer, we all sort of mix our ethnicity by preparing things like burgers, hot dogs, spare ribs in a traditional way or not. What does that mean?
Burgers, hot dogs, spare ribs, potato salad, slaw and pasta salad can mingle with corn on the cob, baked beans, salsas and anything else people can put together with all kinds of condiments.
Socializing is the best part. Oh, yes, don’t try to do it all by yourself. If folks ask if they can bring something, let them. It will make them feel good, too.
In case you aren’t into meats, make a lot of vegetables available and breads to go with them. You know you’ll have fun. If all goes well, make notes and do it again.
