Slave or Free?

Is there something that calls your name? Relentless and seeming sweet, it will cast no blame. It lures and pushes our buttons inside; when we run to it, it seems like a good place to hide. It produces destruction, trouble, and pain; but we obey its voice again and again.

There seems to be no rescuing light, especially when our friends are in the same plight. The chains become heavier, the guilt and shame rage. How do we live in this terrible cage?

This circle is deadly, it will bring us no rest; but there is a Savior who was put to the test.

He suffered as we do, yet without any crime. He bore our payments so we won't do time. He took the judgment for my sins and yours. He paid the price that we should have borne. He did the work, we have nothing to do. He satisfied God by dying for you!

Lay your guilt and your pain at His cross, He can break sin's chains so that you won't be lost.

It's not one addiction that ruins your slate, it's what we are, not what we do, we are sinners; born to disobey. We've broken God's commandments and haven't believed Him. There is none that does good except the Lord Jesus, my friend.

It's a matter of your will. So what will you do? Continue to be a slave to sin, or believe His promise is true. Whoever takes the Son, will have life full and free. It's a gift from God above, can't you see?

So look to the cross and admit what you are: guilty and helpless, and far from God. We can't make ourselves better before the perfect one. We can only surrender and trust in His shed blood. He does the work, He will make you clean. He really loves you and can break the chains for you and me.

Do you want to be free from the slavery of sin and free from Hell forever. Free to live for God and then be in Heaven with the Savior? Read John 3:36 over and over again, until you know for sure where you stand.
