Change seems to be constant in life doesn't it? Change is good, but with it brings the need to say goodbye, and hello.
It is time for our accountant, Sam Holukoff, to say goodbye to serving with Indian Life Ministries.
Jo-Anne Anderson, our previous director, worked with Sam for years and says:
I don't recall what year Sam Holukoff joined Indian Life as the new accountant, but I do remember how excited and thankful we were to have someone so qualified to step into this position. Our previous accountant, Millie King, heard that Sam was retiring from his previous employment and approached him about the possibility of taking over for her. Interestingly enough, Sam was co-owner of his own accounting firm Holukoff-Chiarella which was the auditing firm of ILM. So Sam was quite familiar with the work of this ministry and what the requirements and expectations would be if he chose to join us.
Over the years of his service he brought his godly wisdom and accounting knowledge to ILM as well as his caring friendship. His work was always above and beyond what was expected as he made sure that by the time our fiscal year end arrived, he had all of his "ducks in a row" ready to send to the auditor. Such a blessing for them and us.
I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to work alongside Sam for so many years and I pray he thoroughly enjoys his well-deserved retirement. Thank you, Sam.
With goodbye, also comes the blessing of being able to say hello.
Krystal and I [Todd] have had the privilege of knowing Jennifer Hofer for the last 10 years. We met at our local church where Jen and Krystal became quick friends. Over the years, our families have become friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ. What a treasure to be able to say such a thing!
Jen is a woman who seeks to know and love the Lord, is a mother of two, and is married to Jerome. Jen has served in many roles over the years, but currently leads the worship team at her home church. Jen has a desire to serve the Lord where she is needed most, and was delighted when we approached her to pray about joining Indian Life as bookkeeper/accountant. She shared with Krystal that she was taking her courses at a college in Calgary to become a bookkeeper and felt that God had opened the door for her to join Indian Life.
We're so thankful that we've had a man of wisdom and integrity guiding our financial affairs for so many years. Thank you so much, Sam, for all you've done for us. And Jen, may the Lord pour out his wisdom and blessing upon you as you take on this vital mantle.
