CHESTERMERE, Alb.—On December 16–18, Indian Life Ministries hosted the Gift of Reconciliation conference at Camp Chestermere, Alb.
Featured speaker Mario Swampy talked about reconciliation being a gift from the Lord for all of His children. He asked participants to reflect upon how they are modeling reconciliation, and to have difficult conversations with people as the Lord leads. Swampy also talked about sinful people being reconciled to a Holy God.
During the weekend, Swampy led some times for participants to hold discussion around the tables. A couple of table discussions included defining reconciliation and discussing experiences with it. He encouraged listeners to determine ways to be ambassadors of reconciliation in their own context.
The weekend also featured musicians Kene and Milly Jackson sharing their gifts and leading worship. For cultural fun and flavor, those attending were taught onsite to make and bake bannock. Nine silent auction baskets were donated by Arkann RV, E.C.I.—Explore, Create, Image, Kene and Milly Jackson, Rosebud Dinner Theatre, and Indian Life Ministries. All proceeds from the silent auction went to further the ministry of ILM. And conference participants enjoyed plenty of free time to get to know each other and enjoy the peacefulness of the camp where the event was held.
“It was great to be able to connect with everyone, learn more about them, and hear of the ways the Lord is moving in their lives,” said Krystal Wawrzyniak of the Indian Life Ministries director team. “We can truly say that the Lord had His hand in the weekend, and we are thankful.”
Wawrzyniak hopes that all people touched by Indian Life Ministries will experience the same message heard by those who attended the conference. “We wish you Jesus. It is our prayer that you be reconciled to Jesus . . . that you experience the restoration of hope, healing and honor in the name of Jesus,” she says. “For He is the only One who can have lasting impact and has sustaining power. Reconciliation is a gift. It is free. And it is for you.”
