For the third year in a row, ILM has had the privilege of partnering with Samaritans Purse in their Christmas Parcels project. These Christmas Parcels are gathered and sent to workers serving in northern Canadian Indigenous communities. This year, 120 workers received Christmas Parcels!
The parcels contained local and Canadian made product, specifically chosen to be an encouragement to the recipients. The gift boxes included items such as Indian Life's Council Fire devotional book, snacks, games, a Christian video, bookmarks, drinks, and more.
The recipients' names were provided by Indigenous missions agencies across Canada, including Indian Life Ministries, NEFC (Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada), Diocese of the Arctic, InterAct Ministries, NAIM-North American Indigenous Ministries, Northern Youth Programs, Billy Graham Evangelical Association, United Indigenous Missions, LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots), Samaritans Purse, and NCEM (Northern Canada Evangelical Mission).
In sending these parcels, we hoped and prayed that each worker would experience peace and thanksgiving during the Christmas season. We are thankful for their service, perseverance and dedication to those in the communities where they minister. We hoped that as they opened their gift, they would be encouraged, knowing that we were praying for them. We are grateful for the ways that God is weaving His beautiful story of redemption through each of them and their work.
What an encouragement to know that Indigenous ministries are working together to encourage those working in often-hard-to-access places. And what a joy to be a of this!
Please join us in a prayer for all the recipients, that they'll feel the encouragement and blessing of the Lord all year round.
