What's Up with ILM?

Series: Whats Up with ILM | Story 12

Everything we do at Indian Life Ministries is focused on restoring hope, healing and honor within Indigenous communities, through a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We do what we do because we care about the hearts and souls of every First Nations, Native American and Indigenous person. If the Lord isn't using this ministry to make an impact on the lives of our readers and friends, what are we doing?

Hear what our readers and friends have to say:

• "I have been giving Council Fire away at our addiction recovery center, and now I want to get a whole bunch more!"

• "I love that these stories [in Council Fire] sound like my people, and are actually written by Native people like me."

• "I have been blessed not only by the Intertribal Life newspaper but with their counselling correspondent. She encourages me and inspires me to stay positive in a journey with our Lord Jesus Christ. I met Jesus in a dark six-by-nine cell. He has changed my life in so many ways. But one of the greatest changes is seeing His light expel the darkness that surrounds me."

• "We need to get more of your books. The people here are really happy to receive them and seem hungry for them."

• "The people in my community want us to host another gospel outreach. They were encouraged by the one we had in December and the elders said it made them remember the times when we used to have community feasts and talk about God together. When is the next event?"

Coming up, in the first half of the year, Indian Life is working alongside First Nations leaders in a few communities to bring encouraging gospel-focused events.

At the end of January, we are travelling to Loon Lake, Sask, to work with the local church to host a testimony conference. And then in April, we will go to Mini Thni, Alb., to work alongside a local follower of Jesus, to host another gospel outreach.

During the Valentine's Day weekend, we will be in Dryden, Ont, to work with Family Life Canada and the Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, to co-host an Indigenous Couples Getaway, and then in May, we will travel west of Edmonton, Alb., to work with the Native Youth Conference to bring a fun-filled, gospel-focused weekend to youth from across western Canada.

Wow! That's a busy six months! We give thanks to the Lord for open doors, and ask that His presence go before us, preparing the way, and for a deep filling of His renewal as we travel.

In addition to the encouraging events we get to participate in, we will continue to work hard to produce a quality newspaper, Intertribal Life. We have a team of people who are committed to prepare and produce the newspaper, and we remain thankful for them, as this newspaper wouldn't be possible without them. We think of our writers, our fearless editor, our talented graphics designer, our proofreaders and our printer. Thank you deeply.

Do you know someone who may be encouraged by the newspaper? Please write to us, or give us a call, we will work with you to get it to them.

Do you know someone who may be blessed by receiving a book or two? Reach out and let us know. All of our material is for you and for them.

Have you been praying about a gospel-focused event coming to your community, to help inspire and restore your people? Start the conversation with us. Only God knows what He will do, and what He is preparing us all to be involved in.
